The Ingredients
The Recipe:
2 lbs beef round steak, cut in 3"x1" strips
2 Tbsp oil
1/4 c. soy sauce
1 garlic clove
1 c. chopped onions
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp ginger
2 large green peppers, cut into strips
16oz can diced tomatoes
1/2 c. cold water
1 Tbsp. cornstarch
1. Brown beef in oil in saucepan. (Stacy: this adds flavor and color to your meat before you slowly cook the life out of it.) Transfer to slow-cooker.
2. Combine soy sauce, garlic, onions, sugar, salt, pepper, and ginger. Pour over meat.
3. Cover. Cook on low 5-6 hours.
4. Add green peppers and tomatoes. Cook 1 hour longer.
5. Combine water and cornstarch to make a paste. Stir in slow cooker. Cook on High about 10 minutes or until thickened (Stacy: mine didn't thicken up very well. Not sure what I did wrong.) Serve over rice or noodles.
Serves 6-8

When you but up green pepper, make sure you get out all the little seeds.
