4 weeks, 2 days left!!

We are so excited to show you the latest ultrasound of our baby. Isn't he cute?? I'm not really sure how he got pants on in the womb, but hey at least he's cute! Not to mention how he ended up Asian......


Wow, time has really flown these past few weeks! We only have a small window of time left before our little one enters the world, God-willing! Wes said he is just excited and looking forward to the whole thing. I am too....I just wish I could pick up the baby at Meijer or something and not have to go through the rest...:) Well, I was majorly nesting this weekend and was able to get the whole upstairs cleaned up and vacuumed and all of the sheets changed. I was a woman on fire!!


Once the baby is born, we hope to post pics on the blog and communicate through here or email. Also, if you want to come and visit, we would love to have you! We are going to be at Community North by the Castleton Mall. The hospital gives each woman a code in order for you to get into the birthing center so I will be sure to post this on the blog.

It's Finished!!

Yeah, the nursery is finally done! Preston junk is all moved out and the room is ready for Baby Cook! I am still speechless about how many clothes this kid is going to have (thanks to the generous grandparents and my garage sale obsessions from Preston!). Both sides are filled with clothes and those only go up through 3 months. I haven't done the math, but I don't think he's even going to be able to wear that many outfits in 3 months!

Ahhh....but I did forget about the pooping and the spitup. My bad. Those things are so nice to be able to put out of your mind! So, anyway, take a look at the nursery! Looks good to me! And for those who see all of the diapers up there and say "I thought she does cloth diapers!" well, I do, but not for the first few months. I can hardly say my own name let alone do laundry in the first few months. That is why I force my mom to stay with us as long as possible. For some reason though, she's happy to stick around!! (as long as I'm not biting her head off, which I've been known to do...oops.)

What in the world is a jicama???

I am signed up for weekly emails regarding this new baby. Each week they say something like your baby is 2.0 pounds, about the size of ________ (usually a vegetable of some sort). This week's email just cracked me up! Here's how big Baby Cook is: He is the size of a large jicama. Well of course he is.....why didn't I realize that!? Now, to the business of what a jicama is!! Maybe I'm the only one on the planet who doesn't know...but I doubt it.

Well after much research (okay 2 seconds) I managed to get a picture of what our baby Cook resembles:

He's so cute, isn't he?? Well, at least I now know what a jimica looks like. A badly formed potato. I can die happy now.

Time Out Austin!

In preparation for the birth of our next little boy, we thought it would be a good idea to get Preston a baby doll that he can take care of as I take care of Baby Cook. (Ok, it was all my idea, but hey, he's going to be an androgynous male when he grows up.) When I was in Memphis, I found this cabbage patch from when I was little and I thought it would be perfect! I know, I know, the doll is wearing pink but that's only because I haven't had a chance to get any boy clothes for him. His name is Baby Austin, named after Preston's favorite Backyardigans character.

Well, today Preston was put in time out for jumping up and down on me and screaming while I was talking on the phone....yeah I know, he's a hooligan. Anyway, after he got out of time-out, he headed straight for poor baby Austin and said "Time Out!" and put him on the couch with the timer that we use for Preston's time-outs and proceeded to set it and leave. I felt bad for little Austin, but he just kept smiling it and it never seem to get to him!

See....it's not just a rumor.

For all of those folks who tease me about not being pregnant enough, well here you go. Proof that there is a boy inside of me who has set up his recliner right on my bladder and periodically kicks me to death!! I can't even button up my sweaters!!

Congratulations to Alan and Cassie on their wedding this past weekend. They are currently in Cancun. Right there is a reason to hate them..........

It's a...................

Look at that face! Don't you think we need another one just like this one?? We'll you're in luck! Baby Cook is a boy!! Here's what images are dancing in my head right now.....Two mischiveous boys sneaking bugs and frogs into their bedroom, wrestling matches with Daddy, couches turned over and toys everywhere, pretty much chaos! :) I hope I'm wrong or else I'm going to sign myself up for trips to the spa every week in order to stay girly! Seriously though, we are both excited about the baby being a boy. I can't say truthfully that I didn't feel a twinge of sadness that the baby isn't a girl, but hey, there's always next time! So, there you go!

Some Exciting Things Coming......

This week has been pretty quiet on the blog because I really haven't had anything happen! The most exciting thing that happened was I cleaned out the refrigerator!! Anyway, next week is going to be more event-filled than this week.

We took Preston to the Ear Dr. this week and she said that he is going to need tubes and they are putting them in on Monday! What service! Anyway, he already has tubes but one is out completely and one is being rejected by his body and is causing infection so they have to get that one out too. Poor little guy! So, please keep Preston in your prayers this weekend. He came through the surgery just fine last time so we're not too worried, but prayers would be appreciated!!

Then on Tuesday, we are going to get our ultrasound to hopefully find out what the sex of our baby is! I'm really excited because I have no idea what it is. Everyone has their guesses but you just never know......... I'm going to guess that it's a girl and Wes is guessing that it's a boy. So, there you go, split 50/50. But if you're going off of difference in the pregnancies between this one and Preston, there hasn't been much so that does make a case for a boy! I will be sure to blog what the baby is and hopefully include a picture!!

Case Solved!!

Okay, I really didn't think that the case of the disappearing baby book would be solved this quickly, but it has! Fortunately, Preston has been proven innocent, so I guess we will wait on his admission to military school for now. Anyway, the baby book is alive and well so now I can show you pictures of the littlest Cookie.



I will warn you that the pictures are pretty bad because our scanner is on strike so I had to take a picture of a picture. You can imagine how well that turned out! But here little Cookie is anyway! And make sure you note how much he looks like Wes!

Did I mention they were terrible quality?? Oh well, you get the point, there's a baby in there!! :)
