State Fair Pictures

Here are the promised pictures from the State Fair. Preston had a great time in the "Day on the Farm" area. They could milk fake cows and brush fake sheep and do all sorts of farmy things. He loved it. I was thinking....hmmmm maybe he would be good in 4-H. But look at the last picture....I think he's truly a gangsta at heart!! Maybe he could be a gangster cowboy. Haha. Oh by the way, I know it looks like Owen is in his carseat about 24 hours a day, but it's only because that's what he rides in while we're out and about. Truthfully, he's only in the carseat about 23 hours and 59 minutes.......so there.

The Potty Train

Yesterday was "Potty Train" day as Preston liked to call it. We had a great time riding on the train with Preston. It's so neat to see things through the eyes of your child. Everything is so new and exciting. He could hardly contain his excitement. The people who operate the train were so great. They let us take a picture with the conductor and also let Preston go up in the engine. It was pretty neat if I do say so myself. I will post pictures of the actual fair on Tuesday since I gotta go finish packing for camping. I don't think Wes would be too pleased if I forgot all of his clothes, what do you think??

This is the "BEST WEEK EVER!!"

Hopefully this is what Preston will say at the end of this week. We just happen to have a lot of fun things planned this week that he has been begging us to do. Here's the first thing on his list:

Go see the Firetrucks!!

Next up on the agenda is going on the train to the Indiana State Fair. This is his reward for becoming potty-trained. I know the last time I mentioned potty-training on here was before Owen was born and Preston acted like he wanted to do it.....yeah, that lasted about 2 hours! So, I just didn't mention it for a long time and then at the end of July, I decided it was time. I felt confident that I had the time to devote to doing it and doing it right. He had a bumpy start but by the end of the first week, he was doing way better than I ever expected! Now, 2 weeks later, he will take himself to the bathroom and is dry after naps and during the night!! He hasn't had an accident in over a week and a half. Our next thing to tackle is fear of public restrooms.....he will go, but after much crying. I apologize if this sounds like I'm bragging, but I am just so proud of Preston and am amazed at how smooth things went. And a mom can brag once in a while, right???

The last thing we are doing this week that is going to be fun for Preston is going camping. He's my little camper bug. He loves it! So, I will be sure to post pictures from the train and from the camping trip.

Lindsay's Wedding

I wanted to add some pictures for all of you who were not able to make it to Lindsay's wedding and I'll write a detailed post later! Enjoy!! The real pictures won't be around for a while, but when they are, I will post those because they are going to be awesome!! Lindsay looked gorgeous by the way and her and Gabe had a wonderful day!

Anyone going to the Rocky Mountains?

If you are on your way to the Rocky mts. for vacation, I just have one request....take Preston with you!! Mimi (Stacy's mom) is here and she just got back from CO so she gave Preston and Owen shirts from the Rocky Mountains. Now Preston is convinced he has to go the the Rocky Mountains.

Mimi: I'm leaving!
Preston: I go with Mimi.
Stacy: No, Mimi has to go with Aunt Lindsay to the wedding store.
Preston: I go with Mimi to the store and then to the Rocky Mountains.
Stacy: Rocky Mtns. are many many miles away. It will take you a long time to get there.
Preston: Today is my birthday and I go to Rocky Mountains with Mimi.

See what I mean about trying to have an intelligent conversation with a two year old? Ain't gonna happen!! Yes, today is my birthday so Preston is having major birthday envy. Poor guy wants it to be his birthday sooo bad! His friend Jack's birthday was August 1st so we went to his party and Preston cried the whole way there because he wanted it to be his birthday too! Try explaining that. And then the nerve of his mom to have her birthday 2 days later!! Mimi and Lindsay sang happy birthday to me and got done and he said "It's Beston's birtday too!!" He just doesn't get it........

Ps. Wes is such a funny brother in law that he decided to take pictures of Mike at their olympics doing the hula hoop contest. He thought it would be even funnier if he edited out the hula hoop so Mike looked like he was "special." Just wanted to set the record straight....Mike is not "special"....I mean he is.....but he's not......okay you get it right???
